The Week in Review

Happy Friday!

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and New Year season. While the House was in recess this week, I was in Arizona working on the Fighting Fifth’s behalf. In this newsletter, I’ll give you highlights from the last two weeks, but most prominently, my thoughts and work surrounding the anniversary of January 6, 2021. Read below to learn more:

A Year Later - January 6

Thursday marked the one-year anniversary of the events of January 6, 2021. President Biden and Vice President Harris paid the Capitol a visit in the morning, where they spewed hyperbolic narratives of that day. Most notably, Harris compared the events of January 6th to the attacks on Pearl Harbor and the Twin Towers (fear-mongering and truth-twisting at its finest). I have always condemned political violence, including the violence that took place on January 6. Any act or speech that impedes constructive debate on the important issues facing our nation is a waste. But the Democrats’ and the media’s one-sided and misleading narrative about the events, causes, and implications of that day are more detrimental to our republic than the day itself. Justice for January 6 Defendants

On Tuesday, I sent a letter, along with 20 of my colleagues, to Chairman Jerry Nadler and Chairwoman Carolyn Maloney demanding that House Judiciary and House Oversight & Reform Committees hold hearings on the treatment of January 6 defendants being held at the DC Department of Corrections. There is clear mistreatment of the individuals being held in this DC jail. Bottom line: there is NO excuse for keeping them in these abhorrent conditions and continuing to impose solitary confinement - a punishment that even some on the Left have condemned. It’s time for Chairman Nadler and Chairwoman Maloney to set aside any political motivations, do their job, and hold hearings so that we can get to the bottom of this. Read my letter below:

Also, check out my interview with Steven Bannon on his show, War Room, where we discuss in-depth the treatment of January 6 prisoners.

Release the Vaccine Data

Last week, I sent a letter to the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) demanding answers on their claim to need 75 years to answer FOIA requests on the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine data. It is a ridiculous claim, especially since Biden and the Left are trying to mandate Americans into taking the vaccine. Once again, the Biden administration is demonstrating the complete ineptitude of federal bureaucracy and why it has no place in dictating the private healthcare decisions of the American people. The Jan 6 Committee is an Illegitimate Operation

Speaker Nancy Pelosi runs an illegitimate operation. She bullies. She changes the traditions of the House. She changes the rules. And, often, she ignores the rules.  She has turned the Capitol into a fortress to keep the American people out. She has turned the Capitol Police into the TSA, wanding and frisking members as they enter the House Chambers to vote or debate. Most egregiously, she created an illegitimate committee in an attempt to intimidate members of Congress, attack President Donald Trump and his supporters, and to distract Americans from the disastrous performance of herself, Chuck Schumer (Senate Majority Leader), and President Joe Biden.
