Despite the massive disruption, the COVID-19 pandemic also accelerated digitization across Latin America, changing many aspects of public behavior. This seminar series examines digital trade, the technology workforce, privacy, cybersecurity, among other topics that face new urgency in the region. In the newest paper in a collaborative research project exploring Latin America’s environmental policies, we uncover the role of soy and beef imports in South America and their influence on accelerating deforestation – and climate change.
