Hey there, it’s Katie Porter. California's redistricting commission just finalized new congressional district lines, and the new map means I could have an even tougher race this coming November. Here’s what you should know about the district I’m running in, CA-47.
- There are an equal number of registered Democrats and Republicans.
- Governor Newsom won here by just 1%.
- Nearly 70% of the voters are new to me.
- I’ll need to win in red areas of Orange County.
All of this, in an election year that could be particularly tough for Democrats, means this race is a real toss up. I want to stay in Congress so that I can continue to fight to lower costs for families, protect our environment, and hold corrupt officials and greedy corporations accountable.
