Folks, we can’t beat around the bush. Climate change is an emergency.

Here in New Mexico, we've seen the mighty Rio Grande reduced to a trickle. Colorado’s recent wintertime wildfires may have been the most damaging in their state’s history. In fact, climate change spurred extreme weather events that impacted 1 in 4 Americans’ counties last year.

We cannot accept this as the new normal. We cannot pass this burden on to our kids and grandchildren. And we cannot let our best chance to take meaningful action on climate change pass us by.

We need to pass the Build Back Better Act, and we don’t have a moment to waste. I’ve fought hard to make sure this legislation includes measures so folks can affordably electrify their homes, and we can create new green jobs through a Civilian Climate Corps and incentivize clean energy projects.

We can preserve our planet for future generations, but only if we act with the urgency that this moment demands.

Will you show your support for bold climate action by making a donation of any amount right now? I promise I won’t stop fighting to get meaningful climate measures across the finish line.

Thanks for all you do.
