If you remember, back in February of 2021, we endorsed and supported Mayor Peter Schwarztman to flip a critical office in Galesburg, IL.

With your donations and support, Barrier To Entry PAC guided him to raise $15,000 and defeat an eight-year incumbent who supported Trump. Our expertise and funds helped Peter learn the importance of campaign financing, effective organizing, and digital advertising.

We spent countless hours on the phone and Zoom with Peter and his scrappy campaign team, pulling them up the mountain with us.

The best part about helping a candidate win is seeing the changes in priorities and new policies come to life.

On Thursday, Peter announced a $70M project in Galesburg that is renewable and will bring in more than $300,000 of tax revenue to Knox County and the city. This 50 MWac utility-scale solar development project will cover 380 acres of land and will bring together communities and land-owners to integrate clean energy projects into the local landscape.

We’re so excited to see Peter’s vision come to fruition and to celebrate the accomplishments that come with victories. Because when we support everyday candidates, the whole community wins.
