Friend,

With a president incapable of leading and a Republican Senate focused solely on confirming ultra-conservative, and often unqualified, judges, the right wing noise machine has started claiming that House Democrats aren't focused on issues that improve the lives of everyday Americans.

Don't believe the hype.

This year, we've already passed a landmark anti-corruption bill that reforms our campaign finance system and makes it easier for Americans to vote. We've passed numerous bills on gun safety and establishing universal background checks. We've passed legislation to end discrimination based on sex, sexual orientation or gender identity. We've passed a bill to protect DREAMers. And countless others.

And we're still going. Last month, we introduced legislation to lower drug prices for all Americans.

For years, Americans have been forced to pay the highest prices in the world for prescription medications. These high costs place a burden on seniors and families while pharmaceutical companies make huge profits. House Democrats are saying enough is enough, and we’re moving legislation to lower prescription drug costs for everyone.

If you agree it’s time to finally lower prescription drug costs, add your name now →

Here's how it would work:

H.R. 3, the Lower Drug Costs Now Act, will empower Medicare to negotiate lower prices on as many as 250 of the most expensive drugs per year and will allow private health plans across the U.S. to share in the discounts. And it penalizes pharmaceutical companies that fail to cooperate, ensuring that they come to the table.

The Congressional Budget Office and other independent bodies have outlined the cost savings that could result from this landmark bill: $158 billion for consumers; $48 billion for private businesses, and a massive $345 billion for taxpayers.

If you're with us, and believe that it's time to lower drug costs, reduce insurance premiums, and make sure that all Americans don't have to choose between the drugs they need to survive and putting food on the table, add your name as a citizen co-sponsor now.
