Hi John, 

What a year for Only in America! We changed our format, we had some fun and we even won a W3 award! Our team had the opportunity to highlight Immigrant Heritage Month as well as the ongoing effort of Welcoming Afghan refugees to the US. In 2021, the pod delved even more into longer-form stories and themes about immigrants and immigration, producing approximately 13 hours and 25 minutes into over 35 episodes of the pod. We hope you’ve enjoyed it as much as we have!

Olympic Dreams: Makorobondo "Dee" Salukombo: We were able to put together this episode with the
help of Christy Staats, one of our great mobilizers with Bibles, Badges and Business, who connected us with Dee.   

Sikh Captain America: Vishavjit Singh is one of our heroes from the podcast - and he’s still using his powers to open doors for discussion and moments of introspection. Please be sure to check out his website for updates on his movie as well as upcoming projects.  

A Country of Welcome: This episode features Edafe Okporo speaking about his experiences with the US asylum system and his
current work trying to help other asylees. We were so inspired by his story; we also produced an animated video about this episode you can find here: Only In America: Edafe's Story 

Fugees Academy: We just wrapped up this series and it was so great to hear from the kids and staff at the Fugees Academy! Their hope and vision for the future is what helps keep us going at the Forum
and Only in America.  

What's Happening at the Southern Border: This episode was particularly special for me because it features some interviews I did at the US-Mexico border in March. I was able to visit the Kino Border Initiative and it was eye-opening to see their space and hear about the magnificent work they do. And as a bonus, we won a W3 award for this episode!
