The latest from Only in America
What a year for Only in America! We changed our format, we had some fun and we even won a W3 award! Our team had the opportunity to highlight Immigrant Heritage Month as well as the ongoing effort of Welcoming Afghan refugees to the US. In 2021, the pod delved even more into longer-form stories and themes about immigrants and immigration, producing approximately 13 hours and 25 minutes into over 35 episodes of the pod. We hope you’ve enjoyed it as much as we have!
Listen to these episodes now on iTunes, Spotify, Stitcher, and more.
During our brief break in the new year, our team wanted to take a moment to reflect and highlight our favorite episodes. Below is the list of our favorites, as well as a few behind-the-scenes insights. We hope you have the time to enjoy these episodes!
- Sikh Captain America: Vishavjit Singh is one of our heroes from the podcast - and he’s still using his powers to open doors for discussion and moments of introspection. Please be sure to check out his website for updates on his movie as well as upcoming projects.
- Fugees Academy: We just wrapped up this series and it was so great to hear from the kids and staff at the Fugees Academy! Their hope and vision for the future is what helps keep us going at the Forum
and Only in America.
- What's Happening at the Southern Border: This episode was particularly special for me because it features some interviews I did at the US-Mexico border in March. I was able to visit the Kino Border Initiative and it was eye-opening to see their space and hear about the magnificent work they do. And as a bonus, we won a W3 award for this episode!
We really appreciate all of our guests, everyone on our team who has helped put our podcast together each week, and of course, listeners like you who tune in each week!
Our new year's resolution is to keep creating content that moves and inspires you – and for you to subscribe to Only in America wherever you listen to our podcast.
Thanks and Happy New Year!
