John,
There has been a lot of talk about the January 6 insurrection today on the first anniversary of the riot. We've seen some justice for hundreds of rioters who destroyed property, broke into the Capitol and the offices and chambers inside, and fought police in violent confrontation that resulted in death and numerous injuries. But it has not been enough.
Trump and his allies have not been fully held accountable for their role in instigating the riot—including the Members of Congress who communicated with the organizers of the riot and the effort to overturn a legitimate democratic election. And there has not been enough of a political price exacted on those who continue to support the anti-democratic and fascist wing of the Republican Party.
