Lt. Governor Patrick and Senate Republicans Save Bill Banning Critical Race Theory

Recent polls show Critical Race Theory, a racist ideology that has no place in a child's classroom, remains widely unpopular. No surprise there!

A new poll shows eighty-four percent of voters agree that schools should continue to teach the horrors of slavery, but at the same time, a Scott Rasmussen national survey found that 81% believe public schools should teach that America was founded on noble ideals like freedom, equality, and self-governance, not racism.

You see, despite what the media might tell you, parents nationwide are rejecting CRT. They want their kids to learn about America's underlying principles that all men and women are created equal and that with faith and hard work, they can achieve the American Dream.

Seventy-nine percent of those who support President Trump's policies believe that students should be taught that America is a force for good. So do 73% of traditional Democrats and 70% of traditional Republicans. Yes, you read that right — most traditional Democrats believe students should be taught our country is inherently good, not racist.

However, among those who support policies championed by Bernie Sanders and the radical left, just 42% think students should learn that America is a force for good.

I led the fight, along with bill authors Senator Hughes and Creighton and the Senate Republicans, to ban CRT from being taught in our Texas public schools. Every student should be taught to dream big in this country without a teacher or fellow students labeling them oppressors or victims.

From the Texas Tribune on June 15th… [[link removed]]

"An amended version sent back to the House had appeared dead at one point after state Rep. James Talarico, D-Round Rock, tanked it on a procedural violation. But it was revived by the Texas Senate later that evening after senators reverted back to an earlier approved version of the bill and sent it to the governor's office. Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick had signaled support for the legislation since the start of the legislative session."

Parents continue to be clear where they stand on this issue, and Texas will continue to ensure they always have a role in their children's education.

In Texas, we are turning conservative policy into conservative legislation. The Democrats are trying to defeat me at the ballot box because of this, and they will stop at nothing to defeat me in 2022. Can I count on your support of $5-10-25 or more to help me keep fighting [[link removed]]?

Your support will help our campaign champion conservative ideas across Texas. Because when conservatives win, Texas wins. May God bless you and your family, and may He continue to bless the greatest state of all—Texas.
