Dear members and supporters, We’ve got some good news for the new year—with your help, we raised over $150,000 in the first part of our It Takes Movements to Weave Solutions campaign. Thank you for supporting frontline solutions and mobilizations! As we begin 2022, the GGJ staff team is entering into a month we are calling the Slow Jam. We came up with a lot of metaphors to explain why you may not hear from us as often this January: - We’re tidying
up our burrow with some general housekeeping, like cleaning the tools out of the shed and getting caught up on laundry.
- We’re letting the fallow fields rest for the winter before we grow again.
- We’re getting our compost ready to fertilize our future visions!
The bottom line is: During the Slow Jam we will continue some deep organizational culture work we have been doing over the past 18 months, and will launch a year-long process of ongoing dialogues and training on organizational wellbeing. We’ll be engaging in deeper conversations with staff and members about the changes we want to make to put our organizational well-being values into practice, and
implementing system updates to support our growing team. Together we will continue to define what GGJ’s specific well-being values and frameworks are, and how we will sharpen the skills we need to operate within those frameworks. When we emerge from the Slow Jam, we’ll begin the lunar new year by continuing preparations for our Membership Assembly, which we started last year with a series of member consultations. We’re excited to bring you along and we hope you’ll consider making a special gift to support our membership convening to determine the alliance’s direction for this upcoming period!
