I vividly remember the violent insurrection in the Capitol last year. Horrific images of destruction symbolized how far the GOP will go to hold onto power, and the bad actors that emboldened them did nothing to stop the attack.

I spent the day feeling overwhelmed with fear and despair, unsure of what the future of our country would look like if they succeeded. But they didn’t, and we have the Capitol Police and their fearless sacrifices to thank for that.

January 6th will be a dark stain in our country’s history for the rest of time, and one year later, we are still waiting for accountability for those who incited the riot as well as those who participated.

The American people deserve accountability, and we won’t back down until justice is served. The January 6th Commission is working tirelessly to uncover just what happened during the insurrection, but they need our support.
