One year ago, our democracy suffered a physical attack unlike any we have ever seen. Violent insurrectionists, incited by the former President of the United States, fought to overturn the will of the People.

They stormed the U.S. Capitol and besieged statehouses. They placed pipe bombs outside of the DNC and the RNC. They caused devastating destruction to our institutions, inflicted pain on brave first responders and targeted the dedicated men and women elected by the American people to represent them.

While Joe Biden is still the President of the United States, and Kamala Harris is Vice President of the United States – just as the People intended — we must remember that the threat to our democracy is ongoing. Republicans in Washington, and in state and local governments across the nation, are attempting to turn back the clock on voting rights, women's rights, health care, and so much more. They are also working to undermine the very democratic institutions that we hold dear.

This moment requires each and every one of us to organize, mobilize and, most importantly, vote to preserve our democracy for generations to come.
