It has been one year since the January 6 insurrection took place.

This insurrection was planned and organized out in the open, and numerous
far-right members of Congress enabled the mob as they worked to violently
overthrow the results of a free and fair election.

Here’s just a few stark examples of what took place last year.

Rep. Brooks told the mob that was about to storm the Capitol, "Today is
the day American patriots start taking down names and kicking ass! Our
ancestors sacrificed their blood, their sweat, their tears... Are you
willing to do the same?"

Rep. Gosar told a crowd in Arizona while recruiting people to join the
January 6 insurrection, that, "Once we conquer the Hill, Donald Trump is
returned to being the president.”

We cannot allow any Members of Congress that attacked our democracy to get
away with it.

As we have done since last year, we will keep pounding the drum to demand
accountability for the January 6 attack because if seditionists get away
with it, it will happen again. And the next time our democracy may not
survive.

Even though there is more than enough evidence that numerous Members of
Congress incited last year's insurrection, there have been no consequences
for them.

A violent mob of insurrectionists attempted a coup in our nation’s
Capitol. It shouldn't even be controversial to state that Members of
Congress who aid and abet those who want to bring down our country and
destroy our democracy must be expelled.

The 14th Amendment unequivocally states that anyone who has "engaged in
insurrection" against the United States Constitution is disqualified from
serving in the U.S. Congress.

So why then are Members of Congress who did just that still in office?
