Friends,

One year ago today, January 6th, was one of the darkest days of our democracy. A mob of violent insurrectionists attacked our nation’s Capitol, tragically resulting in the death of officers and injuring dozens more, all while threatening the results of a free and fair election.

These extremists were willing to do anything to overturn the will of Maryland voters and install Donald Trump back into the White House - and the worst part is, they could try it again in 2024.

That’s why we need to elect public officials this year who are determined to fight back against white supremacy and far-right extremism, follow the rule of law, and protect our democracy. That’s why this campaign for Attorney General is so important.

As a member of Congress, I have stood firmly against the violence, hate, and extremism that led us to January 6th on this day one year ago. But the threats are still out there, and we need to stay vigilant.

Future generations of Marylanders are counting on us.
