Dear John,
We are bringing our "Free Speech and Civil Discourse" colloquium to Boston on February 12-13. This program will be held at the Hilton Boston/Woburn. We only have a few spaces left and hope you'll apply!
This two-day colloquium will delve into primary source readings that explore sides of the free speech discussion, civil discourse, and the impact on American society. This dialogue-based program invites participants to examine the Constitutional foundations of free speech, and trace the evolution and understanding of free speech and civil discourse in the United States. Readings will span time periods from before the Founding to the modern-day, and feature varied sources of texts. Participants will also model and explore the pedagogical approach of Socratic practice, with a focus on practical applications for their classrooms.
