John,
A year ago today, we witnessed a direct assault on our nation’s capital and on our democracy itself.
While some of the people who stormed the United States Capitol Building that day are being prosecuted, many of those who fanned the flames of the insurrection have yet to face the consequences.
And despite their best efforts to stop the certification of our elections and President Joe Biden from taking office, we were able to come together and successfully certify the vote of the people with bipartisan support.
But now, a year later, many of my Republican colleagues are acting as if this horrible attack was justified, or as if its significance has been overstated.
Let me be clear: This was an attack on our Democracy.
We cannot allow those who undermine the sanctity of our elections regain control of congress.
As we enter 2022, we have no time to lose. Please, make a contribution to my campaign today and help ensure we hold our House Majority.
Together, we will hold the House and defend our democracy.
Respectfully,
Congressman Sanford D. Bishop, Jr.
