One year ago today, Donald Trump instigated a violent coup attempt with the goal of overturning the election, discrediting our long tradition of democracy, and ignoring the will of the American people.
Our democracy is still under attack. Wisconsin Republican Speaker, Robin Vos, admitted that he regularly updates Donald Trump on his sham “election investigation” based solely on lies. Meanwhile, my opponent has repeatedly amplified Trump’s lies as a political trick to undermine our right to vote.
Stacey Abrams and I are both running in states where Republicans are continuing to amplify Trump’s big lie and use it as an excuse to shred voting rights. Can I count on you to pitch in now to help us both fight back and defend our democracy?

This cowardly attack on our values should have been condemned across the political divide because it is an attack on everything we are supposed to hold dear.
Sadly, radical politicians like my opponent, Rebecca Kleefisch, have amplified Donald Trump's "Big Lie" and used it as an excuse to push for a completely unfounded election audit and draconian voter suppression laws designed to limit the rights of our neighbors to make their voice heard at the ballot box.
She wants to make it harder for people to vote, particularly seniors, communities of color, and those with disabilities. Kleefisch would even remove ballot drop boxes and add more barriers to voting before the 2022 election. Even worse, she promised a group of wealthy donors that she would sign every voter suppression law that makes it to her desk if elected.
This open campaign of intimidation and voter suppression is fundamentally unpatriotic, going far beyond partisan politics. We need to stop it, especially in key battleground states like Georgia and right here in Wisconsin.
