Their rage cannot continue to run rampant.

John,

Earlier today, President Biden gave remarks on a terrible moment in American history: the attack on the U.S. Capitol by insurrections attempting to overthrow the 2020 election results. As President Biden himself stated today, “They didn’t come here out of patriotism or principle. They came here in rage — not in service of America, but rather in service of one man.”

Their service to that man and their rage is still with us today. Extremists who flooded the U.S. Capitol looking for proof that the election was stolen, that COVID-19 is a deep-state hoax and that the world is run by leaders who kidnap and abuse children are still with us. And they're doing more damage than ever.

One year after their coup attempt, some of them are still serving in the U.S. Congress. U.S. Congressman Andy Harris, who will face LGBTQ leader Heather Mizeur this year, still maintains the 2020 election was fraudulent, calling the insurrectionists "patriotic Americans". He tried to fight a pro-equality colleague on the floor of the U.S. House when they spoke out against him.

And some of them are running for office. Like former Pennsylvania state legislator Rick Saccone -- currently running for Pennsylvania Lt. Governor against LGBTQ candidate Brian Sims -- who not only happily participated in the January 6th riot, but live-streamed the event. In addition to running his campaign, he also runs a YouTube channel filled with religious extremism and QAnon conspiracy theories.

In New Hampshire, LGBTQ U.S. Congressman Chris Pappas is facing two anti-equality challengers who worked in Trump's administration and continue to deny the 2020 election results. They're even attacking each other for not spreading enough misinformation about the election!

The list of candidates goes on and on and on. These anti-democracy thugs are protesting at school board meetings, banning pro-LGBTQ books and demonizing critical race theory. They're running for local office, for state legislatures, for governorships and state secretary positions. They're doing everything they can to ensure last January 6th was the start of their awful movement to dismantle not only LGBTQ equality - but democracy itself.

We cannot let their rage, hatred, and dedication to spreading lies win. We must do what we can to defeat their ideals and their rage with LGBTQ candidates at the ballot box this November. If you can make a donation today to ensure Victory Fund's candidates prevail over misinformation and extremism, we appreciate it. Any amount helps.

Thanks for standing against bigotry in all its forms,

Elliot Imse
