Dear John,

This month, our Goodwill Ambassador Cate Blanchett made a powerful address to the UN, where she was joined by statelessness advocate Maha Mamo to discuss the basic human right of a nationality. We hope you find it as inspiring as we did!

We’ve also included an update on our work in Iraq – supporting families fleeing the latest escalation of violence in Syria. More than 13,000 people have crossed the border so far, desperately seeking food, medical care, shelter and protection.

Thanks to supporters like you, we are spreading these stories across the world – highlighting the challenges faced by refugees, as well as their amazing resilience. Together, we are helping people around the world to leave behind the horrors of conflict and rebuild their lives.

The anguish of leaving home

The anguish of leaving home

More than 13,000 people have arrived in northern Iraq, fleeing the latest escalation of violence in north-east Syria. We are on the ground, working around the clock with partners to support people like Amina who were forced to flee their homes.

The thread that binds us

The thread that binds us

Humanity is the thread that binds us together, so we’ve teamed up with Twitter for Good and Kniterate to turn that thread into a unique scarf. We’re knitting this scarf – with your input – to raise awareness and funds for people facing winter far from home.

What would you take with you?
We’re buzzing about this story!

Thank you for supporting us and sharing our stories. Together, we can inspire even more people to offer their time, money and compassion to help every refugee who needs us.

P.S. We’ve got a very special broadcast coming up soon to mark World Children's Day, including a powerful message from an inspiring 10-year-old. Stay tuned for more!
