Dear People For Supporter,
Today marks one year since armed militants attacked the seat of our government and tried to overturn the results of the 2020 election.
Since then, a much larger element of far-right extremists has been hard at work restricting our freedom to vote, attacking fair voting districts, and quietly preparing future attempts to sabotage or nullify elections. This is fundamentally un-American, and cannot be allowed to continue.
Thanks to your support and activism, People For is playing a leading role in a broad coalition of groups working to save our democracy. Here are three things you can do today:

Hundreds of vigils are happening this afternoon and evening across the country to speak out for the principle of government of, by, and for the people. Please sign up to join one near you if you haven’t already.

If there are no events near you, you can also watch and share the livestream of the flagship event in Washington DC – co-emceed by Ben Jealous, President of People For – starting at 4:30 pm ET today.

Finally, if you can’t attend one of the events, please consider chipping in a donation to help us beat back the Far Right's assault on our democracy and fight to protect out most fundamental American right – our right to vote.
