Team,

One year ago we witnessed one of the darkest days in the history of our democracy when Donald Trump incited an armed mob to storm the U.S Capitol. After months of lies about voter fraud, Trump told his supporters to stop the results of the 2020 election. What followed was an unprecedented, deadly attack on our Capitol and democracy.

January 6th is a day we can never forget because it's a reminder of the dangers of extremism and the fragility of our democracy.

Just a few hours after the attack that left five dead and hundreds wounded, 147 of my Republican colleagues in Congress voted to overturn the 2020 election results. Even a year later, right-wing politicians are continuing to push Trump's "Big Lie" and emboldening the same kind of extremists who participated in the insurrection.

Far too many of our leaders continue to downplay the insurrection and refuse to take accountability. Instead they're still pushing these lies to roll back voting rights and undermine our democracy.

Right here in New Hampshire, three of our opponents have embraced Trump's election falsehoods. Two of them have called for unnecessary audits, and one openly said she believes Trump won the 2020 election.

Let me be clear – Trump's "Big Lie" is a threat to our democracy and so are the politicians who continue to spread it.

We have work to do to safeguard our democracy and ensure that nothing like the insurrection ever happens again. I will keep fighting to protect our voting rights, strengthen our democracy, and hold our leaders accountable.

Sign on if you'll always stand up for our democracy >>

Thank you,
