John — One year ago today, a violent mob of insurrectionists incited by President Doanld Trump stormed the U.S. Capitol, assaulted hundreds of law enforcement officers, and attempted to overturn the result of our nation’s free, fair, and secure presidential election.

This violent attack was one of the darkest days in our nation’s history, and it is our shared responsibility as Americans to make sure nothing like it ever happens again. But while President Trump is no longer in office, the harsh reality is that his closest supporters and enablers are continuing their crusade against our democratic institutions.

There’s no state where the danger of Trump’s Big Lie has been felt more acutely than here in Pennsylvania. Within hours of our polls closing, top GOP lawmakers were already conspiring to throw out our state’s election results. Even still, all these months later, Republicans in Harrisburg are pursuing a sham “audit” of the results — even going so far as to subpoena the Social Security and driver’s license numbers of 9 million Pennsylvanians.

As your Attorney General, I went to court to stop Trump and his allies from overturning our election — and I beat them, again and again. As your Governor, I will continue to fight the Big Lie and stand up for our voting rights, our Constitution, and our democracy.

The attack we all witnessed one year ago makes it very clear that the people who incited, defended, and participated in these attacks on our democracy cannot be allowed to gain full control of our state’s government. But if we lose this next election, that’s exactly what will happen — which is why I need your help today, John.

Will you please chip in $25, or whatever you can spare, to make sure we keep the Pennsylvania Governor’s office in Democratic hands next year? Here is a link to donate: [link removed]

This will be one of the closest races in the country in November — and with our democracy continuing to come under attack, we can’t afford to let it slip away. But history is on our side, and I’m confident that if we fight with everything we’ve got, we will prevail.

Thank you,
