A win for freedom we haven’t told you about yet…





Dear John,

There are few things more incompatible with the concept of America and freedom than a government that oversteps its authority to punish its citizens.

Grant Strobl and Jacob Chludzinski know this well.

These young men are political conservatives who probably hold many of the same values as you, John.

They believe in free enterprise, limited government, individual freedom, traditional values, and a strong national defense. Together, they founded ThinkRight Strategies, a political consulting firm in Michigan. They create advocacy materials like flyers and websites for clients to promote messages, platforms, and causes that further Grant and Jacob’s conservative and religious principles.

But they were concerned that the city of Ann Arbor would force them to advocate for political values they oppose. After all, the city has a law that makes it illegal for businesses to “discriminate” based on “political beliefs.”

In other words, because Grant and Jacob would willingly create campaign materials promoting their values for Republican candidates, the law’s text would force them to create similar materials for Socialist candidates promoting government control, higher taxes, and abortion on demand.

Clearly, this was not something Grant and Jacob could do. But if they refused, the city could fine them up to $500—per day! Those fines would quickly put these two young entrepreneurs out of business.

Thankfully, because of the generosity of people like you, Alliance Defending Freedom attorneys were able to file a lawsuit against the city of Ann Arbor to ensure Grant and Jacob’s freedom to choose which political beliefs to promote.

In the wake of the lawsuit, the city decided that Grant and Jacob will not be subject to the concerning law as they operate ThinkRight Strategies. That means Grant and Jacob will not be forced by the government to promote political views they oppose.

This is great news!

These young men are not agents of the state—they are small business owners with rights to free speech and religious freedom. Those are freedoms every American should enjoy.

And the government should exist to protect freedom, not take it away.

We are so grateful for your faithful prayers and support to help Grant and Jacob get the strong legal representation they needed, free of charge. Because of you, these young men were able to stand up to the government to ensure their freedom to speak only messages that align with their beliefs.

And they’re not the only ones who are taking a stand.
