NCUA's Hood announces culture council [ [link removed] ]
NCUA Chairman Rodney Hood Wednesday announced the creation of the NCUA Cultural Council to promote diversity, inclusion, and equity (DEI) within the agency during its Credit Union Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Summit. NAFCU Director of Regulatory Affairs Ann Kossachev attended the event and led a think-tank exercise to generate conversation and solutions to existing and emerging challenges related to advancing DEI.
CFPB symposium addresses small biz lending concerns [ [link removed] ]
Concerns about regulatory burdens added to both small businesses and the financial institutions that lend to them were discussed Wednesday at the CFPB symposium focused on Section 1071 of the Dodd-Frank Act, which requires the bureau to collect data related to small business lending. Bureau Director Kathy Kraninger acknowledged these concerns while emphasizing the need to better understand small business lending.
NAFCU pledges to support savings initiatives [ [link removed] ]
At the America Saves Summit Wednesday, NAFCU pledged to promote programs and resources designed to help Americans save. NAFCU consistently shares credit unions' financial education efforts to help members reach their financial goals and was the only financial services industry trade to join the pledge at the event.

The Maryland and DC Credit Union Association and Children's National Hospital held a ribbon cutting Wednesday to unveil the Capital Area Credit Unions Waiting Area in the hospital's Emergency Department.
