Plus: Texas 1836 Project to Examine State’s History, Future
January 6 2022
Good morning from Washington. Fred Lucas examines what could be coming down the pipeline from the Jan. 6 committee, while Star Parker ponders why exactly Democrats have been laser-focused on this day's events. Over in the Lone Star State, a committee chaired by Heritage Foundation President Kevin Roberts is beginning its examination of Texas' history. Plus: Virginia Allen and Lauren Evans discuss Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez's decision to vacation in Gov. Ron DeSantis' state during a COVID-19 outbreak, and Doug Blair interviews Zack Smith about the Elizabeth Holmes trial and verdict.
“Patriotism is not a belief in a mistake-free history of a people,” says committee chair Kevin Roberts. “It is a belief in ...the desired goodness of that particular civil society.”
"This is the type of trial and story you tend to see on something like 'American Greed' or another true crime type show," says Heritage Foundation's Zack Smith.
Law enforcement "used pepper spray, tear gas, flash-bangs, pepper balls. I got hit with a few pepper balls in [the] chaos of it all," says Townhall's Julio Rosas.
Jan. 6, to opportunistic Democrats, is the excuse to use the entire weight of their party to push for a radical revision of Senate rules and elections.
