Big news, John.
Yesterday, we got word that one of our primary opponents has suspended their campaign for Congress in this district.
This is great news because it means we’re one step closer to unifying the Democratic vote in this race. But it’s a stark reminder that taking on a deeply-entrenched Republican like Kevin McCarthy is no easy task. I’m sure my primary opponent would agree.
So today, I wanted to write and let you know that I’m staying in this fight, and I’m not backing down.
I’m in this fight because our Central Valley district is being left behind while Kevin McCarthy is busy defending Trump and jockeying for a leadership position in the House.
I’m in this fight because we need an advocate for our communities -- not a puppet for corporate special interests.
And I’m in this fight -- on the eve of the Jan. 6 anniversary -- because we can’t stand by while McCarthy allows QAnon-followers like Marjorie Taylor Greene to invade Washington.
I’m not going anywhere, and right now I need to know you're with me because the more support we gather early on, the better our chances are of beating McCarthy:
Will you click here to say you officially endorse my campaign? Today, I'd love to see your name with the hundreds of other endorsements we've received from grassroots supporters across the country.
This goes without saying but I'm not a politician, and I never dreamed of running for Congress, especially after being a teacher for more than two decades.
But I need you to understand something: My kiddos and their families are hurting. I had to do something to leave this community better off for everyone -- and that starts with taking on Kevin McCarthy.
Now I need you to step up too. I need to know you support this campaign. Together, I know we can create the change that we need to see here in the Central Valley and beyond.
I'd love to have your endorsement, John -- let me know you're with me >>
Thank you,
