At the end of each year, the Humane Society ‘grades’ members of Congress based on their record of protecting animals. As a former teacher who appreciates the value of an ‘A’, Katie’s proud to receive a perfect score of 100.
Last year, Katie co-sponsored several pieces of legislation to protect all sorts of animals. That includes the Puppy Protection Act, a bipartisan bill which would hold breeders accountable for providing high quality care for their animals. It also includes the Big Cat Public Safety Act, which would stop people from keeping big cats like tigers and lions as pets.
