While the last few days of 2021 were full of tragic lost we are happy to entering 2022. This year brings midterms, a new congressional district, and so much opportunity for Colorado. We can't wait to work together to accomplish great things for our great state! 🙌

As many of you know Dec. 31st was David's last day with the Colorado Democratic Party. While David will be missed, and we wish him the best of luck in his future endeavours, I am thrilled introduce our new Communications + Digital Director, Megan Burns. She comes to us after being a volunteering with David and has a background in public relations and marketing and has already hit the ground running.
So please give her a warm welcome!

Hello and nice to e-meet all of you 👋
My name is Megan Burns and I’m super excited to join the Colorado Democrats! I have over 10 years experience in marketing and communications with a strong focus in digital and social media. While I have always been a follower of politics, this is my first role in this field. I decided to become more involved after finding out I was pregnant for the first time and knew I had to take action to secure a brighter future for my son.
When I’m not knee-deep in politics you can find me running around Wash Park, taking a dance class, hanging out with my brand new son, or walking my two rescue dogs.
I also want to take a moment to thank David for working with me as a volunteer and showing me the ropes before embarking on his next exciting journey. If it wasn’t for David and Karin providing such a wonderful volunteer experience I probably wouldn’t be here.
Please feel free to reach out with any questions about any and all things digital (yes this includes tiktok 😄) at [email protected].
Looking forward to serving Colorado!
Best,
Megan

The 2022 Legislative Session Starts in One Week!
|
Colorado Dems are ready for the 2022 legislative session -- which starts in one week on Wednesday, January 12, 2022 -- and they need YOU to help them pass policies that deliver for hardworking families!
Share the graphic above, and encourage your friends and family in Colorado to stay engaged and be involved in the Democratic process!
ACTION ALERT: The Republicans are going to do everything they can to win back the State Senate and State House in 2022, and we can't let that happen.
Will you donate TODAY to the House Majority Project AND the Democratic Senate Campaign Fund to defend Colorado's blue majorities?
|
Tomorrow marks the one year anniversary of the January 6th insurrection and The Colorado Republican Party is still knee-deep in election conspiracy. Their frontrunner in the Senate primary, Ron Hanks, actually attended the insurrection and crossed police lines. He’s also parading around the state spreading and fundraising off of Trump’s Big Lie.
Most of the rest of the candidates in the Senate and gubernatorial races have either defended capitol rioters, amplified the voices of violent conspiracy theorists, or endorsed false claims that there were problems with the 2020 election.
We must keep fighting for our democracy in this upcoming midterm year!

Updates from Candidates, County Parties, and Initiatives
|
On the night of December 24, 2021, a light of the Colorado Democratic Party, Sandy Baca-Sandoval, passed away.
Sandy was true gem to work with and she will be deeply missed by all of us involved with the party.
On behalf of the Colorado Democratic Party, we send our deepest condolences to her family and friends.

If 2021 showed us anything, it's that we are no longer a party divided between liberals and conservatives. We are divided between people who are pro-democracy, and people who are anti-democracy.
Anti-democracy Republicans in Colorado are desperate to claw back power, and they'll say and do anything to make it happen. They have dark money, but we have you. Will you become a Defender of Democracy by giving $5 a month?
Monthly donations enable us to be able to plan our budget ahead of time and ensure that we can pay our organizers and staffers to continue to defend democracy. Monthly donors empower us to plan our budget, and they ensure that we can fully fund our 2022 Win Plan.
Will you become a Defender of Democracy and chip-in just $5 a month?
