The FIX Clemency Act would help address the backlog of over 15,000 pending
clemency applications by creating an independent U.S. Clemency Board
responsible for reviewing clemency applications and transmitting its
recommendations directly to the President.

Ayanna’s historic legislation would help transform our nation’s broken
clemency process and address the growing mass incarceration crisis.

Ending mass incarceration and fixing our broken criminal justice will
continue to be a major priority for Ayanna and our movement in 2022. But
in order to ensure we have the resources needed to keep up pressure in
Congress to pass the FIX Clemency Act and other critical criminal justice
