This morning, Republican Governor Brian Kemp officially announced his support for “permitless carry” at a press conference held at the “World’s Biggest Gun Store” in Smyrna, Georgia. He was flanked by supporters from the NRA gun lobby, who are pushing for this change.

Make no mistake, John – if Georgia makes this reckless and unnecessary change to our gun laws, it will lead to more gun violence – and more of our community members and children will lose their lives. This proposal is one that puts partisan politics over people’s lives, and it really hits close to home for me – because the gun laws of this country failed to protect my own son.

It’s simple, John. Looser gun laws lead to more guns in our communities. More guns in our communities will lead to more deaths, many of them accidental and suicides. Please join me and say you’re against Gov. Kemp’s extreme far-right proposal to loosen our state’s existing gun safety laws → [[link removed]]
