Dear Friend,
As we come to the end of another difficult year for the world and our health and wellbeing, it’s become easier to accept “new normals.” We’ve grown more numb to the horrors of COVID-19 as we continue to hear about millions of deaths and the new Omicron strain threatening to overwhelm health care providers. We are seeing rates of suicide increase as the mental health crisis continues. And we know that communities of color bear a greater share of these burdens.
As I reflect on the events and challenges from this year, one of the things I look to for hope is YOU.
I know that you, like our staff, volunteers and dedicated health workers, are not content to settle for the world as it is. The compassionate support of people like you not only inspires us all to always press forward, it ensures we can continue to save lives and heal people wherever the needs are greatest.
Because of your commitment to providing care worldwide, we reached our 2021 Holiday Matching Gift Challenge goal — and impacted over a million lives last year from refugee communities in Texas to earthquake-devastated Haiti and Indonesia.
