Hello Friends,

As you know, on November 12th, the Supreme Court will begin the hearings that decide the future of DACA. In this critical time, we are standing up to support the Defend DACA campaign. We must hold the United States accountable for it's promise to keep our DACA Recipients safe from deportation, to protect those who are often seeking liberation from systems of oppression, to untangle their lives from political opportunism that de-centers their humanity.

As we mentioned in our last email, Defend DACA is fundraising to sponsor 100 DACA recipients to help them pay for their renewal application fee that costs $495. If you would like to help them fundraise, the Young Democrats of Oregon will be holding a fundraising phonebank this Sunday (10th) from 5-7pm at the Marion County Democrats Office (245 High St NE, Salem) to raise money to help pay for DACA Recipients application fees. Please join us, we must do our part in standing up and fighting for justice, humanity and our entire undocumented community.

If you can't make it on Sunday, the Oregon DACA Coalition has also asked us to come out to Terry Schrunk Plaza on Novemebr 12th at 10:30am to stand in solidarity. They are inviting members of the community to come out and share their stories of living undocumented in Oregon. One of the goals of this rally is to shift the narrative on what the undocumented experience is.

In Solidarity,

Emily Mooney, Chair of the Young Democrats of Oregon
