Our elected leaders should pursue justice, protect our civil liberties, and fight for the voiceless and the vulnerable. None of those things describe Jeff Sessions.
Following decades of systemic racism and bigotry, as Donald Trump’s first Attorney General, Jeff Sessions was the extremist architect of some of this Administration's most damaging actions.
Sessions separated parents from their children at the border, implemented an unconstitutional ban on Muslims entering the country, and installed far-right advisor Stephen Miller in the White House.
I fought Jeff Sessions every step of the way, voting against his nomination for Attorney General and calling for his resignation when it became clear he lied under oath to protect the President.
You might remember that, during one certain Senate Judiciary hearing, Jeff Sessions said I made him nervous -- one of the most creative dodges I’ve ever heard from a man who is avoiding telling the truth under oath.
And now that Mitch McConnell has recruited him to run for Senate in Alabama, I need your help in this fight to make sure he never returns to power.
