Dear John ,
Happy New Year!
I have an exciting opportunity to share with you as you settle into 2022! On January 1st, the Bill of Rights Institute launched a national civics contest called MyImpact Challenge. This contest is for students and teachers who are making an impact with citizenship projects in their communities. The contest will award $40,000 in total prizes, including a $10,000 student grand prize and teacher prizes!
Applications must be submitted by May 16th, 2022.

The Bill of Rights Institute will support students with:

I envision this contest being an easy add-on to existing civic club activities, service-learning courses, and student capstone projects. I hope that you will spread the word to your students and your community and encourage students to submit their projects. In addition to student prizes, we will be awarding prize money to the teacher of the grand prize winner, the teacher with the most valid student entries, and the first 20 teachers who have 10 or more valid entries. You can find the full prize structure on our website.
Please reach out if you have any questions or want to discuss this project with me in more detail.
Warmly,
Rachel Davison Humphries
Director of Outreach
Bill of Rights Institute
