ADL’s Fighting Hate from Home webinar series as we discuss the shocking events that took place just one year ago. The country watched as an insurrection at our nation’s Capitol, fueled by violent conspiracy theories, threatened our democracy.
Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas and Washington DC Attorney General Karl A. Racine will join ADL CEO Jonathan Greenblatt and SVP of Policy Eileen Hershenov for an important conversation reflecting on the events of last year’s insurrection, the scope of the threats posed by domestic extremism as we begin 2022 and what government officials and civil society can do to disrupt these threats going forward.
We will share updates on the landmark federal lawsuit that the DC Attorney General, in partnership with ADL and others, has filed on behalf of the District against the Proud Boys, Oath Keepers and more than 30 individual members and affiliates to hold them accountable for their role in planning and executing an act of domestic terrorism on January 6, 2020, and for inflicting unspeakable violence on the District’s police officers and other public safety officers who were tasked with protecting the Capitol and members of Congress that day.
