I know it may be hard to believe, but tomorrow marks one year since then President Donald Trump incited a violent insurrection against our nation in an attempt to halt Congress’s formal certification of President-Elect Biden that cost people their lives. That day showed us the grave danger our democracy is in, and the threat continues with Republicans passing restrictive voter suppression and election subversion laws in state legislatures across the country. 

 

Donald Trump may not be in the White House, but the divisive, dishonest, and anti-democratic legacy of the Trump administration looms large over American politics. That’s why we’ve been working so hard over the past year to make sure our party has the strong infrastructure it needs to elect Democrats at every level of government and defend democracy for years to come. 

 

We have no choice but to elect leaders who will take a stand against destructive, anti-democratic politics — Democrats who will champion truth, integrity, fairness, and progress. As the GOP continues to downplay the violent and treasonous attack on January 6th, we must continue the fight to safeguard our democracy. 2022 is a pivotal year in American democracy and I hope you will stand with us by organizing, mobilizing and voting up and down the ballot - it’s truly never been more important.
