Arlington Dems 2022 Officer Elections & Monthly Meeting

The Arlington Democrats will hold officer elections for the 2022-2024 term on Wednesday, January 5th at 7pm at Lubber Run Community Center. Voter check-in will take place under a tent placed on the outdoor patio. Voters must be in line to check-in by 7:15 pm in order to be eligible to vote. To vote in the meeting, Arlington Democrats must register to be a delegate (Deadline was December 27th). Information on the candidates and more can be found here.

Limited curbside voter check-in will be available for voters who meet any of the following criteria: COVID-positive; subject to COVID contact tracing; immunocompromised; or mobility impaired. Individuals wishing to take advantage of this limited curbside voting are asked to email [email protected] so that we have sufficient volunteers onsite.

AYD New Year New Member Happy Hour

Join AYD for our first happy hour of 2022! This is a great opportunity to meet and network with other Young Democrats, get to know members of the 2022 AYD Executive Board, and learn more about how you can get involved this year. Everyone is welcome and feel free to bring your friends!

We’ll be meeting up on Wednesday, January 19th at 7pm on the outdoor patio at Bronson Bierhall in Ballston. The location is right around the corner from the Ballston Metro and there is some street parking available. The patio is semi-covered and also has space heaters but keep an eye on the weather and dress accordingly. We’ll also have access to a couple patio games such as ping pong and corn hole!

We also ask that all folks attending be fully vaccinated and practice COVID safety in accordance with latest CDC guidelines.

AYD Caucus Reorganization Meeting

Join us for our first meeting of 2022! We’ll be meeting up on Tuesday, January 25th at 6 pm in the Central Library Auditorium where we'll hear from the new Arlington Dems Precinct Ops Chair and also conduct our annual caucus reorganization.

AYD has six caucuses that are each headed by a caucus chair or co-chairs. Throughout the year, these chairs send out monthly newsletters, hold meetings, write resolutions, and sometimes host AYD events!

If you want to become more involved, consider becoming a caucus chair. The application process will open up after the reorganization meeting where values and goals will be set for each caucus for the coming year. You’ll also have the opportunity to sign up to join a caucus at this meeting, and you’re more than welcome to join more than one!
