Dear John,

First and foremost, I hope you, your family, and your community are staying safe in the aftermath of the devastating wildfires in Boulder County. Second, thank you to our first responders: every paramedic, EMT, firefighter, volunteer, and anyone who has aided with disaster relief and put their lives on the line in these past few days.

Many Coloradans had immeasurable losses and my heart goes out to every one of them in this truly difficult time. We cannot replace what was lost, but I'm proud to live in a state where the community is strong and we will always look after our fellow Coloradans.

The work to rebuild and establish a network of support starts now John. I am grateful for the leadership of Governor Jared Polis and Boulder County elected officials as they handle this situation with strength and resolve. I know we will band together to provide aid in any way they need.

Some of you have been wondering how you can help the victims of this tragedy rebuild their lives. The Community Foundation of Boulder County has partnered with both the government and several nonprofits to set up a financial support fund for those most affected by the wildfire. We are all hurting for Boulder County. I am working with our federal delegation to ensure necessary federal funds get to those in need. Along with the immense community support, we can move forward together.
