According to scientists, we now have just eight years left to make the necessary investments in climate action to avoid the most catastrophic consequences of climate change. As incredible as it sounds, California hasn’t passed meaningful climate policy since 2018, when Governor Jerry Brown signed a law committing the state to 100 percent carbon-free electricity by 2045. That has to change – now. States like California need to be leaders in climate change. With new district lines post redistricting and an election this coming November, these next few months are a crucial opportunity to take a giant step forward in this fight. Here at California Environmental Voters, in just the first quarter of 2022, we’ll be lobbying to pass the Corporate Climate Accountability & Leadership Act (SB 260) and launching our annual Environmental Scorecard to hold legislators accountable and demand action. It’s go-time. Now is the moment for each and every one of us to do everything we can to pass the bold environmental legislation we urgently need. Friend, I know how important climate action is to you. That’s why I need you with us: Please join me in making a Climate Resolution to say you’re all in for the fight ahead in 2022 → |
