Submit agency stories to the CCUSA storybank

When you share with us a story about your work and the people you
serve in your local community, we can then share your stories not only
with a national audience but also the lawmakers on Capitol Hill. Our
government affairs team goes to the Hill often, and they are able to
represent the Catholic Charities ministry more persuasively when they
can share local stories that demonstrate the success and efficacy of
programs and services. So please share your stories about food
programs, affordable housing, family reunification, integrated health,
social enterprises, and everything you do! Stories that involve the
federal funding you receive are needed especially. We want everyone to
know about the great work you are doing! Submit your stories

Men's Warehouse launches 12th annual suit drive

Catholic Charities of Corpus Christi, Inc. (CCCC) is partnering with
Men's Wearhouse to launch its 12th annual Suit Drive, a
month-long initiative that collects gently-used professional clothing
for Americans transitioning back into the workforce. Throughout the
month of July, donations collected at Men's Wearhouse stores
will be distributed to CCCC and more than 150 other local non-profit
organizations across the country that help disadvantaged individuals
regain employment through job readiness programs and workforce
assistance. To help drive awareness of the Men's Wearhouse Suit Drive,
@menswearhouse is encouraging followers to spread the word by using
#ThrowbackAndDonate Throwback photos are a lot like your closet.
They're full of clothes you don't wear anymore. The Men's Wearhouse
Suit Drive is the perfect occasion to share those photos and donate
that professional clothing for a good cause. How it Works: Add
#ThrowbackAndDonate to a throwback post, then donate the clothes at a
Men's Wearhouse store. You'll get 50% off your next purchase and give
someone the confidence to get their career back on track. Good on you.
For more information, visit CCCC's website or the Suit Drive
website.

How to develop a summer youth service program as an 8 to 5 operation

Volunteers are a precious and renewable resource who we can cultivate
from their youth with inspiring and challenging engagement.  Too
often high school students consider service a boring obligation to
meet so they can graduate from high school, receive the sacrament of
Confirmation, earn the Gold Award or Eagle Scout.  Participants
will actively assess their agency's current youth engagement and
then examine one youth engagement model that shifted the paradigm, so
students recognize themselves as change makers and leaders in training
who will solve challenges of the world. The Catholic Charities of New
Orleans' SERVE summer youth program - Students Engaging in
Reflective Volunteer Experiences - will celebrate its 10th
anniversary in Summer 2019.  They've learned important best
practices including how to engage youth when your operation is open
only 8am to 5pm, that we will share so participants can consider
adapting the model to their community. Register to attend here. WED,
