Dear John,
Sign the petition: Time’s 2021 "Person of the Year," billionaire Elon Musk, should pay his fair share in taxes so our country can adequately fund critical needs like education, infrastructure, and more.
Elon Musk may be Time magazine's "Person of the Year" for 2021, but he's also growing his fortune at a significant cost to the rest of us. Billionaires like Musk and corporations should pay their fair share in taxes and stop shifting the burden unfairly onto the rest of us and underfunding our critical infrastructure and social safety net.
Billionaires like Musk pay a tax rate lower than the vast majority of us, and massive corporations like Amazon regularly avoid paying federal taxes altogether. It's time that they pay their fair share—such as through a wealth tax proposed by Senator Elizabeth Warren.1
Will you sign our petition if you believe billionaires and corporations should pay their fair share in taxes—and that Congress should act to make sure the ultra-wealthy invest back in the public good for all Americans?

Musk fights against the rights of his own workers, opposes robust government action designed to help regular Americans, and uses his fame and platform to spread disinformation about COVID and nastily attack Senator Warren for calling for a wealth tax.
Well, Senator Warren is right—and it's time for ultra-rich Musk to pay his fair share. The extreme wealth of Musk and other billionaires have come at a cost to the rest of us—and it's time we take steps to tax them fairly and support the needs of our country. A modest wealth tax is one critical step in that direction. Senator Warren has proposed such a tax—earning her the ire of Musk.
A "Person of the Year" should pay their fair share. Add your name to support Senator Warren in calling for a wealth tax so that billionaires like Elon Musk will be forced to invest back into the public good.
Thanks for all you do,
