Kentucky just elected a fighter for health care and a champion for education, a Democrat, to the governor’s office. And Virginia, for the first time in over twenty years, flipped the whole state blue.

In what were some of the highest-profile races of the year, Andy Beshear beat incumbent governor Matt Bevin in deep-red Kentucky, and Virginia Democrats took control of the statehouse because of two reasons:

--Voters care about access to affordable health care, keeping their kids safe in school, and quality education
--Virginia Democrats and Kentucky Democrats got organized, worked tirelessly around the clock, and mobilized--and Serve America was proud to have canvassers on the ground in Virginia to help bring home victories there

The playbook for 2020 was written last night.

We know what we need to do: we’ve got to focus on building support on the ground, talking to voters, and communicating what’s at stake. We’ve got to showcase our Democratic victories on protecting health care and education and show that those are things we’re going to keep fighting for.
