How the Left Would Destroy Confidence in Elections <[link removed]> – It is disappointing to see Democrats reassert
their push to pass federal legislation that would lead to dishonest and unfair elections and destroy public confidence in the integrity of all future elections. The claim that state reforms intended to protect voters are ‘voter suppression’ and an ‘attack on democracy’ is a lie and an attempt to con Americans into supporting deceptive and dangerous federal legislation. American voters don’t want Washington politicos telling states how to run their elections. Federal legislation that would ban all state voter ID laws, mandate reckless practices, and give unelected and unaccountable federal bureaucrats the ability to veto state election rules they don’t like would imperil free and honest elections. Biden Wants to, in His Words, ‘Eviscerate the Senate’ <[link removed]> – Then-Sen. Joe Biden, D-Del., condemned <[link removed]> weakening the Senate’s tradition of extended debate as “an example of the arrogance of power,” a “power grab by the majority party” that would “eviscerate the
Senate. <[link removed]>” It was 2005, and Republicans held the White House and Congress. Today, with Biden himself in the White House and Democrats the majority in Congress, he is calling for the same power grab in order to pass an unconstitutional federal takeover of elections. The evisceration of the Senate, however, will not stop there. Senate rules empower the minority party by requiring a supermajority to end debate before a simple majority can pass bills or confirm nominations. The Congressional Research Service describes <[link removed]> extended debate as one of the Senate’s “most distinctive procedural features” that pushes the majority to work with the minority. Biden’s foreign policy challenges for 2022—are he and his team up for the job? <[link removed]>  – How long can Biden limp along with the lethargic, inept team he has running national security and foreign policy? So far, the only personnel shake-ups he has made involve the Oval Office dog and a cat. With a domestic agenda on life support, a looming midterm election massacre and global problems galore, can Biden really afford to keep this lame team on the roster? Changes are well in order. But that raises the question: If Biden does bring in new people, will U.S. polices get better or worse? Heritage Expert: James Carafano <[link removed]>

Why we can hope for a better K-12 world in 2022 <[link removed]> – School officials have spent barely 10% of this money that Congress so urgently allotted to schools to help cover pandemic-related costs. Now, analysts and researchers are concerned that public schools are spending the new money on the same things they have for decades, such as hiring more employees, and not looking for innovative ways to help students catch up.Officials can talk about “crossroads” all they want, but families and students do not need another story about having reached a policy intersection. Change is coming in 2022, and families and their children will be the beneficiaries. Heritage Expert: Jonathan Butcher <[link removed]>

U.S. Military Uses Religious Test Against Service Members To Enforce Vaccine Mandate <[link removed]> – Members of our military pledge their loyalty to the Constitution. Its First Amendment guarantees freedom of religion. So, it would be perverse to force men and women in uniform to abandon their deeply held religious beliefs to serve their country. Yet that’s what’s happening regarding the COVID-19 vaccine mandates — for which the normal rules seem not to apply. The Air Force recently discharged <[link removed]> its first active-duty members for declining to take a COVID-19 vaccine. Those 27 are likely the first batch of many to be discharged on these grounds. Thousands of our servicemen and women have requested religious exemptions. So far, not one <[link removed]> has been granted. Heritage Expert: Jay Richards <[link removed]>
