It’s hard to believe that a year ago today, in a crowded bar in Bay Ridge, we declared electoral victory.
As I reflect on the past year, I remain deeply grateful for the trust you have placed in me. It is an honor to serve the communities of Bay Ridge, Dyker Heights, Bath Beach, Bensonhurst, Gravesend, Homecrest, Manhattan Beach, Marine Park, Gerritsen Beach, as well as portions of Sheepshead Bay, Borough Park, and Midwood in the New York State Senate.
I ran for the state senate to fight for reliable and fully accessible subway and bus service for all, to protect working families, to keep our streets safe for families and pedestrians, and to clean up the political corruption in Albany. And that’s exactly what I’ve done while in office.
The New York State Legislature had the most prolific and accomplished session in history, where we made unprecedented strides in addressing some of the systemic issues facing our state. It wouldn’t have happened without your support.
But there is so much more to do. We need to hold reckless drivers accountable for vehicular violence. We need to fix our city’s broken property tax system. We need to fully fund our public schools and continue investing in the higher education of the 21st century. We need to continue to increase accountability on the MTA.
The fight goes on. Count on me to always have your back.
