Be Specific in Your Pursuits

One of the things you can be sure of in life is that you don't get something you don't aim at. Often people will keep their goals vague. One of the problems with specifying your goals is you also need to outline the parameters for your failures. By keeping your goal vague, you're not sure when you fail. That means you can fool yourself. Keep your goals sharp and clear.

You'll know then what to aim at.

Monday Reflections

"When you have something to say, silence is a lie." (Share this on Twitter)

"Compare yourself to who you were yesterday, not to who someone else is today." (Share this on Twitter)

"People don't really repress the things they don't want to face, they just fail to unpack them." (Share this on Twitter)

This Week On The Podcast

Fortitude: American Resilience| The Jordan B. Peterson Podcast - S4:E71

Congressman Dan Crenshaw and I discuss the fallout of withdrawing from Afghanistan and the details of the 20-plus-year conflict. We talk about life as a US congressman and his experience as a US Navy SEAL. About social media and politics–especially in relation to modern conservatism. About climate change. On that note, we also examined Dan’s recently-published "Fortitude: American Resilience in the Era of Outrage.”

Dr. Jordan B. Peterson:

"I'm much more afraid of the people dealing with climate change than climate change itself."

Dan Crenshaw:

"I will say that politics feels a lot more like service. There's zero glory in it but it's important and fulfilling and that’s why I do it."

New Interview

How to Become the Person You Have Always Wanted to Be | The Diary of a CEO Podcast - E113

Dr. Jordan B. Peterson:

"If you want to know something about yourself, sit on your bed one night and say, what's one thing I'm doing wrong, that I know I'm doing wrong, that I could fix, that I would fix?

If you meditate on that, you'll get an answer, and it won't be one you want. But it will be the necessary one."

Discovering Personality Course: New Years Sale

Pursue What is Meaningful, Not What is Expedient. (Rule 7)

There are a trillion things to pay attention to. Almost all of them are irrelevant.

I would argue there’s no better use of time than understanding your own personality and the personalities of those around you.

In my 5-hour Discovering Personality Course, you will find more information than you would find in the typical full-scale semester university personality course.

For New Year’s, the course is 47% off.
