ORANGE COUNTY, Calif. — On Monday, Supervisor Don Wagner endorsed Brian Maryott and released the following statement:
"Brian Maryott has an excellent background to serve in Congress. He has extensive experience in dealing with family finances. I had the pleasure of serving with Brian on a regional board, and I saw first hand the depth of his knowledge. He is also exceptionally hard working and ethical. He will bring a mature demeanor to Capitol Hill and lead by example. I am proud to endorse him in the race for Congress, 49th."
Brian Maryott responded, "Supervisor Wagner is one of Orange County’s true statesmen – having served for more than a decade as a legislator, mayor and now supervisor – he knows how important it is to have the right leaders representing our Party in tough elections. I am incredibly honored to have Don’s confidence and endorsement and I look forward to working with him to both strengthen the Republican Party and restore sanity to Washington D.C."
Formerly a Member of California State Assembly and a Mayor, Wagner was elected to Supervisor in a special election in March 2019 and reelected to a full term in March 2020. He holds a bachelor's degree from the University of California, Los Angeles and earned a Juris Doctorate in 1987 from the University of California, Hastings College of Law. Don lives in Orange County with his wife, Megan, and their children.
