Seattle Democratic Socialist of America

We need your guidance and the rest of our class in the fight ahead...

"Quorum" at meetings is important: it's the threshold to determine whether decisions are sufficiently popular and democratic, whether there's support among the people. It's not enough to write resolutions. A revolution is not a dinner party. We must build a movement capable of and inspiring confidence that we can succeed in revolution.

There's a lot to be revolted by: climate catastrophe, obscene inequality, an abundance of housing but people made unhoused, a shameful and prolonged pandemic response, precarious employment through an app, a prison system that enslaves more people than anywhere else on earth. The US is the pre-eminent police-, prison-, and imperial-state.

We need you. Participation in our General Meetings is how we determine whether we're taking the right steps. If we're to use our class to defeat capitalism, racism, imperialism, and patriarchy -- we need you. We need your neighbor. We need your friends and chosen family to help us plan and build. We can't do it alone. We only have each other against the ongoing and worsening crises of capitalism. The capitalist state isn't going to save us. We're all we have. Read the agenda then register. We'll see you on January 11 at 7 PM!

¡Venceremos! We will prevail!

We endorsed a rank-and-file teacher and anti-imperialist to run against Rep. Adam Smith in the 9th Congressional District. Knowing from family's lived experience against the Pinochet dictatorship in Chile, Stephanie Gallardo is running for her students, for her family, and for our class to fight the rampant empire-making of Rep. Smith's office. What hubris it is to see Rep. Adam Smith sponsor NDAA and military action after action when the very hotel next to his Renton offices kicked out unhoused people last year. Capitalism will even eat its own and it's high time to push the imperialists out. Help us phone bank South King County and get members excited about putting people before profit, mutual cooperation instead of empire, socialism over capitalism.
