CHAIRMAN, Jay Kramer * 772-321-7724 * [email protected] VICE CHAIRMAN SECRETARY, Linda Anselmini * 609-577-5139 * [email protected] TREASURER, Steve Gagne * 772-480-6671 * [email protected] STATE COMMITTEEWOMAN Elly Manov 772-696-1665 [email protected] STATE COMMITTEEMAN Shawn Frost 772-264-4373 [email protected] IRC REPUBLICAN PARTY CHAIRMAN Jay Kramer With a big bang the Republican Red Wave continues into 2022! Florida is now an official “Red” State and it’s becoming increasingly apparent that the Democrats can’t do anything but commit political suicide with their Woke agenda. Locally, the Republican Party had a great 2021, we got the media all fired up about January 6th, Marjorie Taylor Greene, Critical Race Theory, masks in the schools and parental rights. We were right on the issues and the media had it wrong making fools of themselves repeatedly. Thanks to the grassroots organizers and committee members for slowing the Left’s agenda here in Indian River County, proving we really can make a difference in our community. In the coming year, the momentum will continue as the “Red Wave” marches on, and we start campaigning for our Governor and getting out to register more Republicans. Many have seen the light and are switching parties from Democrat and Independent. The current “president” has shown us that special interests got him where he is, and he has surrendered our country to them. He has become the fastest lame duck president in history and the Democrats and jumping ship as fast as they can. We have the opportunity this year to take advantage of all of this to take back the House and Senate. Let’s leave socialist 2021 and make sure that 2022 is the year of the American Patriot. It’s time to hijack Biden’s BBB plan, it’s time to Bring Back Better in 2022! Jay Republican Headquarters: 865 20th Place Vero Beach, FL 32960 Open Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM Phone: 772-492-8394 "Tyranny is defined as that which is legal for the government but is illegal for the citizenry." Thomas Jefferson VOTER REGISTRATION TRAINING In line with the tightening of Florida laws on election integrity, the process for Third Party Registration has changed. A third-party voter registration organization is any person, entity or organization that collects any voter registration application. Whenever the Republican Party registers people to vote it is acting in the capacity of a third party. Our State Committeewoman, Elly Manov has arranged for training for individuals who want to participate in voter registration activities. The training will take place on January 18th at 10:00 AM at the Supervisor of Elections office. If you are interested, please let us know at [email protected]. IMPORTANT: JANUARY 8-9, 2022 Volunteers are needed for the Gun Show next weekend, Saturday, January 8 and Sunday January 9, 2022. If you would like to volunteer to register voters and hand out information at the REC table, please contact Jeff Mosesso at [email protected]. Shifts will be created so please indicate day and hours of your availability. Those who volunteer should wear their REC name badge and let the gate staff know they are with the Republican Party table when they arrive. Led by an undaunted Governor DeSantis, 2021 was the year that Florida stood athwart a relentless wave of tyranny on every front and shouted, Stop! Florida put freedom first, and the nation took note in the most concrete ways. According to just-released Census Bureau numbers, between July 1, 2020, and July 1, 2021, Florida led the nation with a net in-migration of 220,890 residents, well ahead of second-place Texas. This is not a weather-related event. California was the biggest net loser followed by New York. This was Americans choosing freedom in a most intimate way — by packing up the family and moving to Florida for a better future. They saw that Florida prioritized educational freedom for children in school, religious freedom for all faiths to gather for services, economic freedom for businesses to stay open and operating, employee freedom to earn a living and pursue careers, and bodily freedom for every one of us. Floridians lived free in 2021 because of this bold, principled leadership. It should come as no surprise that Republican voter registration has also continued to surge in Florida. GOP voters surpassed active Democratic registered voters in November 2021, and we are now more than 25,000 ahead. People voting with their feet and their party registration is good news indeed. But as Ronald Reagan reminded us: “Freedom is a fragile thing and it's never more than one generation away from extinction. It is not ours by way of inheritance; it must be fought for and defended constantly…” And that is why 2022 will be a redoubling of Republican efforts to protect and expand Floridians’ freedom against the relentless encroachment of the authoritarians. Those who want to mandate or restrict every element of our personal lives will never stop and neither will we. This will launch with the Legislative session in January. Governor DeSantis made his intentions clear when he proposed his aptly named Freedom First budget and several legislative proposals. This raft of proposed laws include: the freedom to make our own health care decisions, the WOKE Act to fight woke and critical race theory indoctrination of our children, better pay and support for law enforcement to effectively keep law-abiding residents safe, stopping Biden’s targeted flow of illegal aliens being brought into Florida, more election integrity measures, and the long-term protection of our environment. Of course, there is no doubt that the authoritarians at the gate with their media phalanx that feeds the crisis industrial complex will gin up more panic this year. But Floridians have had enough, and Republicans have their back. Governor DeSantis has the active support of Attorney General Ashley Moody, CFO Jimmy Patronis, Lieutenant Governor Jeanette M. Nuñez and Legislative leadership. Together, we will all defend Floridians’ freedoms every day, led by a man who understands Reagan's axiom: freedom “must be fought for and defended constantly…” Republican Party of Florida Lieutenant Governor Jeanette Nunez Highlights 2021 Administration Successes Lieutenant Governor Jeanette Nuñez has highlighted the 2021 Administration successes under her leadership across public health, space, cyber, human trafficking, and various other areas. “Our Administration continues to strive for ways to put Floridians first. I am committed to doing what is right and I am proud to stand alongside our Governor in leading the free and great state of Florida,” said Lt. Governor Jeanette Nuñez. Department of Health Throughout 2021, Lt. Governor Nuñez has served as a key advisor on health policy and, alongside Governor DeSantis, advocated not only for access to vaccines for those who wished to be vaccinated, but also for widespread availability of monoclonal antibody treatment (MAB). The administration quickly recognized that MAB treatment prevents COVID-19 symptoms, reduces hospitalizations, and saves lives. Under Governor DeSantis’ leadership, the state of Florida quickly set up 25 regional sites to provide this life-saving treatment. To underscore the effectiveness of monoclonal antibody treatment, the Lt. Governor publicly shared the personal story of how MABs accelerated her 85-year-old mother’s recovery from COVID-19. Additionally, the Lt. Governor conducted numerous interviews and press conferences, in English and Spanish, to communicate to Floridians across the state the latest information on COVID-19 and the effective use of these life-saving tools. In October of 2021, Lt. Governor Nuñez spearheaded a letter with 14 lieutenant governors across the country urging the White House to reverse their decision to seize control of the distribution of life-saving monoclonal antibody treatments for COVID-19. While Floridians continue to overcome the effects of COVID-19, the Lt. Governor recognizes that there are other health-related issues that impact Floridian’s health, well-being, and quality of life. As an advisor to the Florida Department of Health, the Lt. Governor attended State Health Improvement Plan Steering Committee meetings with leaders across the state to establish the new priority health issues and topic areas in the State Health Improvement Plan for 2022-2026. The forthcoming priority health issues the Department will focus on include Alzheimer’s Disease and related dementias, behavioral health, chronic diseases and conditions, infectious diseases, injury, safety and violence, maternal and child health, and social and economic conditions impacting health. Sadly, several counties in Florida have some of the highest HIV transmission rates in the country. In 2019, the federal government launched the Ending the HIV Epidemic Initiative to put an end to the HIV epidemic in the United States by 2030. Understanding that HIV is a problematic health concern in Florida, Lt. Governor Nuñez was an active partner in implementing the first phase of the initiative. To continue combatting this health issue, on World AIDS Day earlier in December, the Lt. Governor collaborated with State Surgeon General Joseph Ladapo to raise awareness about HIV and AIDS, and provide information on HIV testing, treatment, and prevention. Space Florida The year 2021 reaffirmed the critical role Florida plays in commercial space travel and exploration. In her third year as Chair of Space Florida’s Board of Directors, Lt. Governor Jeanette Nuñez provided steadfast leadership in Florida’s continued quest to becoming the world’s premier aerospace location. This year alone, Florida hosted 23 licensed commercial launches from the Space Coast, including the SpaceX Inspiration4 and Crew-3 missions. Florida also continues to diversify its capabilities beyond rockets and launches. Under the Lt. Governor’s tenure, Terran Orbital brought its micro-satellite manufacturing headquarters to central Florida and Boeing further expanded its operations at Cecil Spaceport in Jacksonville. Space Florida also bolstered the state’s economic development through aerospace development. Lt. Governor Nuñez and the Board of Directors were instrumental in finalizing deals with six companies, bringing $394 million in funding and investments to the Sunshine State. As Chair, Lt. Governor Nuñez paved the way for an anticipated 2,369 new jobs with an average annual wage of $73,000. Florida truly is the place for space. Human Trafficking Lt. Governor Nuñez has remained diligent in her commitment to combating human trafficking throughout the state of Florida. As the longest-standing member on the Attorney General’s Statewide Council on Human Trafficking and as Chair of the Legislative and Special Initiatives Committee, the Lt. Governor has worked with local leaders across the state to develop policies and partnerships that will end this heinous crime. For the second year in a row, Florida had the privilege of hosting the Super Bowl. In advance of Super Bowl LV, the Lt. Governor proactively took part in human trafficking prevention measures. These measures included collaborating with partners to provide adequate training to many, including but not limited to, Uber drivers, all county health departments and their employees, and truck drivers throughout Florida. In addition, the Lt. Governor has collaborated with organizations, legislators, and stakeholders to continue raising awareness on the prevalence of human trafficking. Earlier this year, she participated in a roundtable to discuss strategic steps and measures to eliminate the prevalence of human trafficking throughout Florida. The measures included expanding education and training on human trafficking, enhancing services for victims, and reviewing established penalties for perpetrators of human trafficking. Cyber 2021 was a historic year in improving the state’s cybersecurity infrastructure. Under the Lt. Governor’s leadership, the Florida Cybersecurity Task Force adopted formal recommendations and provided its final report to the Florida Legislature in February. The findings were influential in creating the language for HB 1297, improving the state’s cyber hygiene through enhanced governance and operations. The administration also secured more than $30 million in cybersecurity funding through the Florida Leads Budget. This is the most funding appropriated for cybersecurity in Florida’s history. HB1297 also created the Florida Cybersecurity Advisory Council, which the Lt. Governor has the distinct honor of serving as chair. Alongside an impressive group of industry leaders and experts, the Council aims to share best practices and identify discrepancies among state and federal cybersecurity laws, finding ways to better protect Florida’s digital infrastructure from malicious cyber-attacks. The council will submit an annual report to further implement measures to protect our state agencies, assets, and employees. Cuba As the daughter of Cuban exiles who fled the island in 1961, Lt. Governor Nuñez has been an outspoken critic of the communist regime. In July, Lt. Governor Jeanette Nuñez joined Governor DeSantis for a roundtable with Cuban American leaders, Cuban dissidents, and elected officials in Miami supporting the freedom-seeking Cuban people who protested the tyrannical grip of the Castro and Diaz-Canel regime. Both the Governor and the Lieutenant Governor urged the Biden Administration to take a strong stance against the oppressive dictatorship by providing internet access to Cubans on the island so that their powerful efforts could garner world attention and support. At this time, the Biden Administration has yet to provide the Cuban people with unfettered access to the internet, all the while various companies have the capabilities to do so. Lt. Governor Nuñez also participated in a roundtable discussion with Governor DeSantis, Republican Leader Kevin McCarthy, congressional members of the Leader’s Advisory Team on Cuba, and Latin American community leaders in Miami to discuss and identify policies that will support the protestors and hold the dictatorship accountable for its decades of human rights abuses. Surfside For more than 20 days, Lt. Governor Nuñez stood alongside Governor DeSantis and Kevin Guthrie, director of the Florida Division of Emergency Management, at the tragic Surfside Building collapse, meeting with victims’ families, survivors, Miami-Dade County leaders, the Federal Emergency Management Agency, United Hatzalah of Israel, and Urban Search and Rescue teams from across the country. Our Florida Division of Emergency Management was promptly prepared and supported all response efforts of the Surfside Building Collapse as well as implemented multiple co-response plans with more than 440 heroic first responders and state workers on-site. Lt. Governor Nuñez actively engaged with Miami-Dade Fire Rescue chiefs, Miami-Dade Police directors, and first responders on site to provide support and assistance. Florida Battles Federal Government Again Over Monoclonal Antibody Supplies Florida, under the direction of Gov. Ron DeSantis, has been at the forefront of promoting monoclonal antibodies as an effective, life-saving treatment for patients who are at greater risk for serious COVID-19 reactions. While originally the Biden administration all but ignored the life-saving treatment option and opted to push Big Pharma-produced vaccines instead, the White House is reportedly playing dirty with the distribution of monoclonal antibodies to the states, and Florida’s surgeon general is ready to fight them tooth-and-nail, the Washington Examiner reports. Florida’s top doctor has launched a new battle against the White House over recent shortages of the monoclonal antibody treatment used to fight severe COVID-19 infection. In a scathing letter sent on Tuesday, Surgeon General Joseph Ladapo charged the Biden administration with “actively preventing the effective distribution of monoclonal antibody treatments." But the Department of Health and Human Services rejected those claims saying “the federal government has and will continue to supply Florida with treatments that can help improve patient outcomes, reduce stress on healthcare facilities, and save lives.” The Biden administration took over the distribution of treatment shipments in September amid a national shortage. The federal government scaled back shipments of monoclonal antibody treatments to Florida and six other southern states, which accounted for 70% of orders nationwide. DHS noted it was concerned those states would use up the finite supply, saying officials would “work to ensure our supply of these life-saving therapies remains available for all states and territories, not just some.” The infusion centers proliferated in August when roughly 28% of hospital beds in Florida were occupied by COVID-19 patients, accounting for more than any other state. Now that the government oversees distribution, DeSantis’s health officials are barred from placing orders for treatments with manufacturers directly. “We’ve been thrown a major curveball here with a really huge cut,” DeSantis said when the government announced the change in September. “We're going to make sure we leave no stone unturned. Whoever needs a treatment, we're going to work like hell to get them the treatment.” Monoclonal antibody treatments work in people at high risk of serious illness and who have tested positive but are not hospitalized. The treatment can also be used as a preventive measure in high-risk individuals if they have been exposed to the virus. STATE ELECTION INTEGRITY SCORECARD The Heritage Foundation has published an Election Integrity Scorecard, which compares the election laws and regulations of each state and the District of Columbia that affect the security and integrity of the process to the Foundation's best-practices recommendations in order to help voters, state legislators, election officials, and all Americans who are interested in ensuring a fair and secure election process. See how Florida compares to the other 49 states and the District of Columbia. . Election Integrity Scorecard | The Heritage Foundation Unity - We need to stand together. As we approach the 2022 mid-term elections and the 2024 presidential election, and in light of the abject failure of the Biden administration, we know that the very survival of our republic depends on the outcome of those elections. Therefore, we must stay unified. Never lose sight of who our political opponents are… the progressive left Democrats who are taking our country off a cliff with the active help of Big Tech and the old-line national news media.
