Yes, too often we see folks equating niceness and kindness as the solution to racism. It’s not. Hard truth: Being nice and kind can still make you a racist.

That’s why PowerPAC doesn’t do “nice.” For almost two decades, we’ve constantly called out long-established consultants, the Party, elected officials, and other leaders who, though they are nice, are not doing enough to combat systemic racism, fix underrepresentation (e.g. number of white consultants hired vs. people of color consultants is astounding), and provide impactful resources to community organizations. We’ve learned that their niceness is the sheet they get to hide behind.
