Yesterday, the Democrats across the country capped off a third year straight of incredible victories. In Virginia, Kentucky, and in many other local elections, leaders championing the cause of the working-class triumphed over Republicans who aligned with Trump’s divide-and-conquer politics.

It’s heartening. People are tired of seeing an economy rigged to protect the wealthy and powerful, while our neighbors struggle to get by. We’re sick of seeing massive corporate tax breaks as those same leaders attack education, social services, and so many critical policies.

Our victories in 2017, 2018, and 2019 show that fighting for the people, not the billionaires, is our path to taking back this country. But we can’t rest — 2020 is just around the corner, and that’s our final battle for the soul of America.
